Resident Photographer

Because the lands protected by the Trust are not a recreational area and public access is limited, photography allows a wider audience to appreciate the wild lands that are Creek 53. It is in this context that we at Creek 53 are so grateful for the volunteers whose skill and patience captured the images you see on our website and our social media. In fact, photography is so important that we now have a Resident Photographer.

Resident Photographer is a new volunteer role and one that will evolve with time. Hudson resident Stéphane Hogue is the inaugural Creek 53 Resident Photographer and you can see many of his images on Flickr.

A landscape and nature photographer, his photos have been published in the Montreal Gazette, the Hudson Gazette, the Local Journal and The 1019 Report. His captures also appear on the Scouts Canada and Creek 53 web sites. His books and portfolio may be seen on redautumnsun.com.

His interest in conservation photography and the need to capture and expose the fragile beauty of this area is a perfect marriage. He sincerely hopes his images will inspire others to help conserve this, and other natural environments.

Stéphane has a Masters Degree in philosophy from McGill University. He resides in Hudson, Qc with Karen and Kyle. He is active in the community, volunteering with Scouts Canada, the David Suzuki Foundation, Nature Hudson and of course, Creek 53.

Recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee award, the Scouts Canada Award for Fortitude, and the Scouts Canada Bar to the Medal of Merit.
