Creek 53 is honoured to welcome internationally renowned botanist, biochemist, medical researcher, author, and environmental advocate Diana Beresford-Kroeger for a very special afternoon celebrating the power, wisdom, and wonder of trees.

Diana Beresford-Kroeger has spent a lifetime exploring the profound connections between forests, human health, climate resilience, and cultural memory. Drawing upon her scientific expertise and her upbringing within the ancient Gaelic oral tradition, she has become one of the world’s most compelling voices for the protection and restoration of our natural world. Her work has inspired audiences across the globe and has transformed how many of us think about trees—not simply as components of ecosystems, but as essential partners in the future of life on Earth.

The afternoon will begin with a screening of Diana’s acclaimed documentary, Call of the Forest: The Forgotten Wisdom of Trees, a visually stunning and deeply hopeful film that follows her remarkable journey to reveal the critical role trees play in sustaining life on our planet.

Following the screening, Diana will join Dr. Chris Buddle for a live conversation and audience Q&A exploring forests, biodiversity, climate resilience, traditional ecological knowledge, and the enduring importance of reconnecting people with nature.

Diana is the author of numerous influential books, including the bestselling To Speak for the Trees and the inspiring The Sweetness of a Simple Life, works that blend science, storytelling, and ecological wisdom into a compelling vision for a healthier relationship between people and the natural world.

The afternoon will conclude with a book signing. Copies of Diana’s most recent books will be available for purchase.

Whether you are a gardener, naturalist, forester, scientist, educator, student, or simply someone who finds inspiration in the natural world, this promises to be an unforgettable opportunity to hear from one of the most influential environmental thinkers of our time.

Join us as we explore the wisdom of trees, the stories they carry, and the hope they offer for future generations.
